Sarah was the daughter of Daniel Egery and Deborah Delano. She was the wife of Samuel Steward and they made their home in Barnard, Vermont. Sarah, who was apparently known as Sally, was the mother of ten children: Elkanah, Polly, Chloe, Benjamin, Lyman, Sarah Elizabeth (Sally), Rebecca, Daniel, Elizabeth (Elisa) and Emily. Following Samuel's death in 1813, Sarah was found as the head of household in the U.S. Federal Census of 1820, still living in Barnard, Vermont. She was not found again so it is suspected she passed away sometime before 1830.
