He was born September 16, 1920, in LaBelle, Idaho, to Frank and Dessie Morgan. Don grew up and attended area schools and graduated from Rigby High School.
On January 6, 1946, he married Ella Lindsay in Rigby, Idaho. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple on October 19, 1948. They have always lived in Idaho Falls. Spending their winters in Apache Junction, Arizona.
He worked as a salesman and manager for Friedman Bag Co. for 35 years before retiring in 1986. Don was a proud veteran serving 43 months overseas in U.S. Army during World War II. He then served a second tour of duty during the Korean Conflict. Don was an active member of Veterans of Foreign Wars and rode in the Iona Posse for 23 years.
He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Don enjoyed golfing, fishing and horseback riding.
He is survived by his two daughters, Sharon Morgan of AZ; Jacqueline Pierce of AZ; and 1 son, Scott Morgan of Weiser, ID; 12 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and one brother, his lovely wife Ella, two daughters, Karon Morgan Whitehead and Rebecca "Becky" Morgan Hammon; and daughter-in-law, Michelle Morgan.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, May 24, 2018, at Wood Funeral Home, 273 N. Ridge. The family will visit with friends from 1-1:45 p.m. prior. Burial will be in the Iona Cemetery.
