Janette was raised by Mary and Jimbo Jackson. She spent much of her life growing up at the home of Nannie Ma and Uncle "Les" Jackson, alongside her sister Bertha Parker.
She attended Pentecostal Evangelical Church at a young age.
Janette was a quiet, stylish person, always wearing a soft smile. She loved hummingbirds and enjoyed spending time feeding the ducks and taking long rides. She worked as a bookkeeper for Capricorn Hair and Fashions for many years, which was owned by her sister Martha Dunham.
Janette was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Jesse James Jackson, Jr., and Manuel Jackson, and her sisters Lillie Mae Lucas, Josephine Jackson and Bertha Parker.
She leaves to cherish her memories two children Clinton "Crockett" Parker of Caroline, VA, and LaSonya "Mona" Parker-Jones of Roanoke Rapids, NC; five grandchildren, Tracy Brown Jackson, Sandy Parker, Christina Parker, Falon Jones and Clinton "Mikey" Parker, Jr.; and one great-grandchild, Ernest Hamilton Jr.
She is also survived by two brothers David Chester Jackson and Larry Jackson; three sisters Martha Dunham, Magdeline Coleman and Patricia Jackson; and a host of family and friends.
The funeral service will be Friday, May 11, 2018, at 12:00 p.m. at A. L. Bennett and Son Funeral Home, 200 Butternut Drive, Fredericksburg, VA, with viewing beginning at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be in Glen Haven Memory Gardens.
