Mrs. Alvina Jurgemeyer, 62, of 428 Tenth-and-a-half street, Silvis, a resident of the quad-city area for a number of years, died at 8 p.m. Friday in the Moline public hospital after an extended illness.
Alvina Kester was born July 18, 1887, in Ishpeming, Mich. Mrs. Jurgemeyer was a member of the St. John's Lutheran church and the Ladies Aid society. At one time she resided in Rock Island.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Arthur Davis of Rock Island; a son, Harold Jurgemeyer of Hawaii; two sisters, Mrs. Arthur Abrahamson of Rock Island and Mrs. Harry Kendall of Saginaw, Mich.; four brothers, Carl Kester of East Lansing, Mich., Albert Kester of Rock Island, William Kester of Geneseo and August Kester of Rock Island; and two grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Monday in St. John's Lutheran church, Rev. Otto Keyl officiating. Interment will be in Memorial park cemetery Rock Island. The body will lie in state at the Wendt funeral home, East Moline, Sunday afternoon and evening.
NOTE - Place of birth was incorrect in obituary; however, her older siblings were born in Michigan. Alvina married Hugo Edwin Jurgemeyer in 1913, and filed for divorce against him in 1945. He remarried in 1947.
