SAN MARCOS, CA/JANESVILLE— Rose Hasse, 87, died Friday, April 8, 2005, at Palomar Medical Center in Escondido, CA, of heart disease. She was born on May 24, 1917, in Fall Creek, WI, and has lived in San Marcos for 25 years. She attended the University of Wisconsin, Whitewater, WI, and was a bookkeeper and office worker for Cutler-Hammer in Milwaukee, WI, and F.W. Woolworth and General Motors in Janesville, WI. She retired as a doctor's assistant in Janesville. She was a charter member of the Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Escondido, where she was a volunteer. She also volunteered at the San Marcos & Escondido senior centers. Mrs. Hasse is survived by her husband of 58 years, Theodore "Ted" Hasse; daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Dave Welton of Janesville; sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Ann Hasse of Montrose, CO, and Richard and Nancy Hasse of Janesville; a sister, Frieda Baumbach of San Marcos, CA; 8 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Johanna Baumbach; and a daughter, Sandra Slatter. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Saturday, May 7, 2005, at ST. PAUL'S LUTHERAN CHURCH, 210 S. Ringold St., Janesville, WI, with Pastor Hendrickson officiating. Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service on Saturday. In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, the family suggests donations be made to St. Paul's Lutheran Church.
