Daughter of William A. and Edna O. Frazer. Born 5/7/1923 in San Diego, CA. Died 4/11/2018 in Santa Clara, CA. Age 94.
Lived in Burlingame, CA until 1948. Graduated from Stanford University 1943.
She earned her RN degree while serving at Stanford University Hospital in San Francisco, caring for wounded veterans returning from overseas duty in WWII.
Married James W. Bell 1946. They moved to Sunnyvale 1952 following Jim's Korean War service in the USMC. During the early '70's Lorene served as the Director of Nursing at Pilgrim Haven Convalescent Home in Los Altos.
The Bells were very active church members in Santa Barbara, San Jose, Los Altos and Saratoga. Both were very interested in foreign missions and for much of their lives they enjoyed hosting national missionaries from all around the world.
Although Lorene endured a 13-year ordeal with dementia, she retained her lovely demeanor and was still on her feet until a few weeks before her passing.
Lorene was preceded in death by her husband, Jim, and her son, John.
She is survived by sons Thomas R. (Rosemary) Bell of Seattle and J. Michael (Sandi) Bell of Santa Clara; granddaughter Malia E. (Andrew) Clark of San Jose; Great-grandchildren Tana, Juno and Grady Clark; and step-grandchildren Evan Kuhlmann and Danielle Kuhlmann.
Memorial service will be held at Alta Mesa Memorial Park in Palo Alto, Thurs. June 14 at 11am.
