Nellie Shelton was born November 9, 1945 to the late William Berkley Chambers and Anna Lavine Morris Chambers. Nellie loved the lord and her family, and was a member of Clearview Baptist Church. She was an excellent cook, an avid reader, and enjoyed needlework.
Survivors include her husband, of 54 years, Wilbur Shelton; sons, Ray Shelton (Gayle), William Lee Shelton (Sherry), Daniel G. Shelton (Ann) and Todd Shelton; grandchildren, Colby Joyce, Nathan Shelton (Jessica), Lydia Shelton, Rebecca Edwards (Joseph), Skyla and Chris Shelton; great-grandchildren, Nate Rumley, Hunter Shelton, Jacoby Vernon, Oakley and Memphis Edwards; brother, Tommy Chambers (Laura); sister, Kay Saunders (Larry); half sister, Betsy Payne (T.A.); and special friend, Bonnie Allred.
The family will receive friends from 7 until 9 pm, Tuesday, at Colonial Funeral Home and other times at the residence.
