- Nellie Gray Shelton, 72, left her earthly home Sunday, May 20, 2018, surrounded by her loving family.
The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday May 23 2018, at Clearview Baptist Church followed by burial at the church cemetery.
Nellie Shelton was born November 9, 1945 to the late William Berkley Chambers and Anna Lavine Morris Chambers. Nellie loved the lord and her family, and was a member of Clearview Baptist Church. She was an excellent cook, an avid reader, and enjoyed needlework.
Survivors include her husband, of 54 years, Wilbur Shelton; sons, Ray Shelton (Gayle), William Lee Shelton (Sherry), Daniel G. Shelton (Ann) and Todd Shelton; grandchildren, Colby Joyce, Nathan Shelton (Jessica), Lydia Shelton, Rebecca Edwards (Joseph), Skyla and Chris Shelton; great-grandchildren, Nate Rumley, Hunter Shelton, Jacoby Vernon, Oakley and Memphis Edwards; brother, Tommy Chambers (Laura); sister, Kay Saunders (Larry); half sister, Betsy Payne (T.A.); and special friend, Bonnie Allred.
The family will receive friends from 7 until 9 pm, Tuesday, at Colonial Funeral Home and other times at the residence.
