FORT WORTH--Doris Padgett Coleman, 96, passed away Sunday, May 13, 2018. FUNERAL: 3:30 p.m. Thursday, May 24, in Greenwood Chapel. Interment: Greenwood Memorial Park. Visitation: 2 to 3 p.m. Thursday at Greenwood. Doris was born to Helen and Jake Padgett on June 12, 1921, in Fort Worth and was a lifelong resident. She graduated from Paschal High School and UTA, and retired from General Dynamics after 20 years working as a computer programmer/analyst. Doris enjoyed traveling with family, friends and travel groups. She had a great sense of humor and a very brave sense of adventure. When she was 19 years old, she earned her private pilot's license. When she was 81 years old, she went to New York City for a week by herself. She was a member of St. Andrews Episcopal Church and Lockheed Martin Retirees. Doris was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Walton Davis Coleman; son, Bill Coleman; and daughter, Elaine Coleman. SURVIVORS: Daughter, Mitzi Landsman Boyd and husband, Bill; grandsons, Michael Landsman, Barton Landsman, Perry Coleman and Carter Coleman; and five great-grandchildren.
