Janet Rose Lombard, born in Fort Wayne Indiana on October 27, 1934, went to be with Jesus on Mother's Day, May 13, 2018, after a twelve year illness. Janet is the wife of her loving husband, Anthony (Tony) Lombard. They were married on July 12, 1958 in Madison, Wisconsin.

Janet graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Wisconsin-Madison class of 1958. As an English Major, she enjoyed writing, languages and teaching children. She was a Librarian for the Fremont School District in Fremont, California.

As a member of the Catholic Church, she served on the School Board for Our Lady of the Rosary in Union City California, taught CCD and helped out in the classrooms. She enjoyed reading mystery novels, square dancing and travelling with her husband in the United States and Europe.

She loved the beach !

Janet was a member with the Weed-Lake Shastina Kiwanis Club, and Sons of Italy, in Weed California.

She and Tony studied Italian together and they served the Weed High School Students as Mentors.

Janet loved her Country and was 'Acknowledged in Appreciation by the United States Air Force' in supporting her Husband Tony in his 26 years of service in the U.S. Air Force.

Janet was a loving mother and is survived by her husband and their five children, Lynn Weaver of Idaho, Laura Medina of California, Carol Giovannoni of California, Gina Briggs of Tennessee, Thomas Lombard of Tennessee. The family was raised in California and includes 20 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

Family came first. She loved her family, had a love for learning, birds and flowers and more importantly loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus.

Janet Rose is preceded by her parents Colonel Paul I Freiburger and Margaret Freiburger.

She is survived by her two sisters, Agnes Krug and Rita Galvin. Janet was the Loving Aunt to many nieces and nephews. She was a Good Friend.

The family wishes to extend their gratitude to AseraCare for their support in her final journey home.

Betty,Chelsey, Nicole and Mandy lovingly cared for Janet and her Husband Tony. We are eternally grateful! Pallbearers will be Michael, Mathew and Mason Briggs, Jacob Weaver, Erik Medina, Joshua and Caleb Lombard.

Visitation will be held on Thursday at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home in Clarksville,Tennessee on May 17, 2018, from 4 pm to 6:30 pm. Rosary will be prayed at 6:30 pm. Visitation Friday will be held at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home from 9:30 am to 10:30 am.

Funeral Mass will be held at at 11 am Friday, May 18, 2018 at Immaculate Conception Church, Clarksville, Tennessee.
