MOUNT ZION -- Tina M. Lewis went to be with her Heavenly Father on May 17, 2018 at 5:47 pm in St. Mary’s Hospital with family surrounding her.
Tina was born September 23, 1961. She is the daughter of Jim Ira Weatherford and DeVera Weatherford (Maple). She graduated from Mt. Zion High School in 1979. Tina met the love of her life, James R. Lewis, while boarding Amtrak. They were married December 17, 2000. They resided in Belleville, Illinois for seventeen years until his death in January 2017. Tina then lived with her daughter Stephanie, son in law Jason and grandson Jackson.
Surviving are her daughters Mary Smith of Decatur, Stephanie Leevy (Jason) of Decatur, Melissa Leigh of Decatur; step-children Ben Lewis and Jennifer Long of Missouri; Mother DeVera Weatherford of Decatur, Sister Treasa Smith (Corey) of Mt. Zion, brother Jimmie Weatherford of Mt. Zion. Grandchildren Dion Hyde, Talayah Hyde, Arrionna Hyde, Kendrick Smith, Brylan Carothers, Jackson Leevy, and Kyrin Murphy; niece Zoey Smith and great long time friend Perry Snearley.
She was preceded in death by her father Jim, sister Debbie, maternal and paternal grandparents, husband Jim, and her beloved dog Yoda.
No services to be held per Tina’s wishes. Tanzyus Logan Funeral Service and Care is in charge of the arrangements.
The family of Tina would like to thank the nurses, staff and doctors in the ICU who cared for her during this difficult time. Especially Taylor, Rebecca, Sam, Brandie and Rikki. Thank you all for everything. We felt the love from every nurse who entered her room.
Also, would like to thank the Ladies of Love from the Great Banquet that came to visit our mother in the hospital. We know it truly meant a lot to her.
