On Thursday, October 8th, occurred the death of W.I. Guy, of Altmar, having been confined to his bed for about four weeks and previous to this time had been in ill health for about eight years.

Mr. Guy was born in Verona, Madison county, November 7th, 1852. At the age of sixteen he worked as apprentice in his brother's flour mill. After learning his trade he worked his way up to better positions in some of the largest mills in New York State. At different times he had charge of large mills in Texas, California, Iowa, Minnesota and Canada. His last position was head miller in Smith Bros. mills in Canandaigua, N. Y., having served seven years there.

Resigning this position on account of ill health he purchased a small fruit farm near Canandaigua and afterwards sold this property and bought a larger farm near Altmar known as the old Smith farm.

Mr. Guy is survived by his widow, Mrs. Minnie J. Guy, and son, Fred Guy, of Lacona; sister, Mrs. Jennie Clark of Wampsville and a brother, Theodore Guy of London, Canada.

Funeral was from his late home; interment in Wesleyan cemetery in Sandy Creek.
