Ernest Torres Sr., 69 , died Friday, May 18, 2018 at his home Leoti. He was born July 7, 1948 in El Campo, Texas the son of Lionicio and Mary (Janas) Torres. He married Josie Rubio on August 15, 1964. She died July 17, 2009. Later he married Teresa Lopez on April 1, 2011. She survives.
He was a beloved father, husband, and grandfather. Mr. Torres will be remembered for his kind giving spirit. He lived his life to serve his Lord and his family takes comfort in the knowledge that he has joined Him in His kingdom. Survivors include his wife, Teresa Torres; children, Elizabeth (Filemon) Ponce; Glenda Ledesma, Alicia (Ascension Jr.) Duran, Isaac (Cristina) Torres, Nelson (Yadira) De La Cruz, Cendy (Leonard) Morcillo, & Abigail (Carlos) Mendoza; 24 Grandchildren; 10 Great-Grandchildren & numerous siblings, nieces and nephews. In addition to his first wife, Ernest is preceded in death by his parents; son- Moses Torres and numerous siblings.
A Vigil Service will be held Monday May 21, 2018 at 6:00 pm at The Church of God of the Firstborn, 2909 W. Mary Street.
