Joshua (Josh) Stephen Bottoms, 36, of Hoover, Ala., died May 17 from a heart attack.
Josh grew up in Bluff Park, graduated from Hoover High School, then attended The University of Alabama, where he was a member of Sigma Chi fraternity, and Auburn University.
As a child, Josh was tenderhearted, quick to laugh, delighted in his family and many friends, and developed a lifelong passion for Marvel Superheroes. As an adult, he was a devoted father whose greatest joy was his children, Anna Caroline (12), and Ella Elizabeth (10). His favorite activities were with them - attending movies, cooking dinner on the grill or just playing outside. He also enjoyed working out, kayaking, and collecting vintage comic books.
He was employed by Stericycle and was a member of Mountaintop Community Church, where he recently rededicated his life to Christ.
In addition to his daughters, Josh is survived by his loving parents, Shannon Seale Bottoms and Stephen Wayne (Linda) Bottoms, his grandmothers, Earlene Seale and Betty Bottoms, and numerous other family members and friends. He is predeceased by his beloved sister, Katherine (Katie) Lynn Bottoms.
