Paul Rutherford, 90, of Blyton passed away at 5:35 am Saturday, May 19, 2018 at Sunset Manor Nursing Home in Canton. He was born on June 4, 1927 in Blyton to Warren and Susie (Paul) Rutherford. Paul married Nelda Walker on June 2, 1951 in Burlington, IA. She preceded him in death on April 16, 2015. Also preceding him in death were his parents and two brothers; Gene and Perry. Surviving are three nieces; Laura (Steve) Nuttal, Carol Rutherford, and Tina Rutherford, and several cousins.
Paul retired from IHC as a plow builder after 32 years. After retiring he worked for "Chadco" in Bushnell for several years. Paul was a 50 year member of both the Masonic and Moose Lodges. Paul was a very devoted husband to Nelda and they loved to travel. They had visited most of the United States. He also loved to fish especially in the Spoon River.
Services will be 2 pm Wednesday, May 23, 2018 at Oaks-Hines Funeral Home in Canton where visitation will be one hour prior to services. Burial will follow at Wiley Cemetery in rural Ellisville. Memorials can be made to the donor's choice.
