Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. Mr. Baker passed from this life early Tuesday morning, May 15, 2018, at his home with family and loved ones by his side.
Visitation will be held from 4:00pm until 8:00pm Thursday, May 17, 2018, at Fair Haven Baptist Church.
Born in Nashville on January 27, 1948, he was the son of Agnes Baker and the late Willard Baker. Along with his father he is preceded in death by; brother, Steve Baker.
Kenny was a graduate of SCHS class of 67, after he served his country in the U.S. Navy he started his career as a sales clerk for his father’s business (Shelbyville Super Market) then opened his own store (Baker’s Quick Check). Years later after selling his store he worked for Horse Mountain Distributing until retirement. He was a trail boss for the Buffalo Trail Ride for 30+ years, and a faithful member of the Fair Haven Baptist Church.
He was a man who loved first and foremost, the Lord, his family and friends, horses, dogs, the outdoors, and the art of whistling.
Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Janet Baker of Shelbyville, children; Ryan (Tina) Corley of Shelbyville and Natalie (Justin) LeGate of Shelbyville; grandchildren, Dalton Corley, Tristan Crick, Cade Crick, Valynn Corley, Chloe Thomas, Caden Thomas, Taylor LeGate, Macy LeGate, and Lizzie LeGate; brother, John (Lenore) Baker of Murfreesboro; and sister, Connie Baker of Lewisburg.
