Robert Brown Crenshaw, 84, of Lakeland, TN, passed away Thursday morning, May 17. He was the son of the late Norris and Mildred Crenshaw. Bobby graduated from Tech High School in 1951 and later served in the Navy Medical Corp during the Korean War. He worked in the trucking industry for 39 years, working for ETWNC Truck Lines, Red Ball and Bowman. In his later years he worked for the City of Memphis.

Bobby was a member of Merton Avenue Baptist Church for over 60 years where he served in multiple capacities, everything from Wednesday night cook to Minister of Music to Trustee. In recent years he enjoyed being a part of Stillwaters Baptist Church. Singing was one of his passions and he loved to sing in the choir on Sunday mornings.

He married Katherine Harris in 1965 and enjoyed 42 years of marriage before her death in 2007. He liked to divide their time between their home in Lakeland and their home on Lake Hamilton in Hot springs, Arkansas.

While Bobby and Katherine had no children of their own, they helped to raise nieces and nephews and anyone else who needed a helping hand. Their home was always open to family and friends. Bobby had a wonderful sense of humor and was always quick with a joke. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Norris Crenshaw, and his sister, Janice Frank. He is survived by his sister, Sue Shanklin, of Lakeland, and several nieces and nephews.

Bobby also leaves his dog, Binky, which gave him great comfort and companionship.

The visitation will be Sunday, May 20, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Memorial Park Funeral Home. The funeral will be Monday, May 21, also at Memorial Park. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
