Mr. Meehan passed away Thursday, May 17, 2018, in Oklahoma City.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday, at the Elgin Funeral Home.
Robbie was born Aug. 2, 1961, in Honolulu, Hawaii, to Robert and Mary Meehan. His father served in the military, so he was able to experience lots of different places with his family before settling in Elgin, where he graduated high school in 1979. He then got married and had four children. He served as an MP in the Army from 1981 until he was honorably discharged in 1992. He was very passionate about serving his country. He then went on to construction work, which he also loved doing. Robbie enjoyed listening to old country music, reading books, fishing, playing pool, playing dominos, cooking on the grill (whether it was raining, snowing, or sunshine), and spending time with his family and friends. One of his all time favorite things was visiting the ocean, he definitely loved the ocean.
He is survived by a daughter, Brandy Meehan, Lawton; three sons: Robert Meehan, Louisville, Texas, Michael Meehan and his wife Denise, Apache, and Christopher Meehan, Elgin; a brother, William Meehan, of Oklahoma; six sisters: Mary Fehring and her husband John, of Oklahoma, Susie Mahan and her husband Troy, of South Carolina, Terri Seidel and her husband Mike, of Kansas, Barbie Edings and her husband Keith, of Florida, Kathy Taranto and her husband Tony, of Florida; two grandsons; six granddaughters; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and his sister-in-law, Jana Meehan.
