Kathleen Allard Carr, 93, passed away on April 7, 2018 in Port Charlotte, Florida.

Kathleen was born on May 16, 1924 to William and Ada (Merriam) Allard. She lived her life in Bridgewater, Vermont. She graduated from Woodstock High School in 1943 and worked a number of years in The Woolen Mill on the floor and in the shop.

On December 1, 1945 Kathleen married the love of her life, Horace J. Carr. They spent 72 years creating a life filled with love, devotion and family. She will be remembered always as a beloved wife, mother and grandmother.

Kathleen loved her home where she spent many hours creating beautiful hand sewn quilts and caring for her plants. She also well be forever remembered by her family for her famous pies. She was and active member in the Bridgewater Congregational Church. Kathleen and Horace also spent the past 30 winters in Port Charlotte, Florida where they were surrounded with many dear friends and family.

Kathleen loved family cookouts and gatherings at camp. She also enjoyed playing golf and took pride in having achieved a hole in one.

She was predeceased in death by her parents and her brother Earle Allard. She is survived by her husband Horace Carr; their daughter Paula and her husband Bruce Maxham, her granddaughters; Michelle and Dennis Gareau, Karen and Glenn Poland, Jennifer and Paul Beauchamp, her great grandchildren; Josh Maxham (Beth Fish), Austin Gareau, Abby Beauchamp, and Jacob Beauchamp, and her two sisters; Olive Greenough and Pauline (Don) Carr.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday June 16th at 2:30pm in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Bridgewater, VT followed by a fellowship at the Bridgewater Congregational Church.
