JAMES MCGOVERN, 76, DIES AT HIS HOME IN CRESTON TODAY
James McGovern, 76, of Creston, Father of Tom H. McGovern, well known railroad fireman on this division of the Burlington and of Mrs. Nell Beeson of Coburg, died early this morning at his home. The body accompanied by relatives will arrive here tomorrow on train No. 3 and will be at the Perryman Funeral Chapel until the funeral services which will be at 9 o'clock Saturday morning at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Fr. M. M. Tennessen in charge. Burial will be in the Red Oak Catholic Cemetery. Mr. cGovern's death followed a number of months of ill health.
Mr. McGovern is survived by his widow and seven children. They are Frank, Sheriff Fred McGovern, Walter and Bernard of Aberdeen, South Dakota, Mrs. Grace Schnoor of Duluth, Minnesota, Mrs. Nelle Beeson of Coburg, and Tom, who makes his home with his parents in Creston. He leaves a brother, Jack McGovern at Marshall, Minnesota and several sisters and grandchildren.
James McGovern was a former resident of Red Oak, having lived in this vicinity a number of years ago. He was a devout member of the St. Mary's Catholic Church.
