He was born February 15, 1958 in New Castle, IN the son of Max Dorwin and Anna Marie (Usrey) Funk. He was a 1976 graduate of Union High School of Modoc, IN.
Mark practiced his trade as a Journeyman Upkeep for more than thirty-five years at Anchor Hocking Glass of Winchester, IN. He was a member GMP Local #65, where he had served as Vice President. He was also past Randolph County 4-H Horse and Pony President and was a founding member of Monroe Central Wrestling Club.
He leaves to cherish his memory three sons, Erick M. Funk (wife, Amanda) of Portland, TN, Alex R. Funk of Indianapolis, IN and Bradley A Funk (wife, Allison) of Spring, TX; his mother, Anna Marie Funk of Losantville, IN; a brother, Max A Funk (wife, Jil) of Greenville, TN; two sisters, Debra A Rose (husband, Mitchell) of Muncie, IN and Daphne S. Dickey (husband, Larry) of Dunkirk, IN; five special grandchildren, Wyatt, Wade, Warren, Alexis and Jude; a nephew, Adam Bell (Ashley Love); and a great nephew, Weston.
He was preceded in death by his father.
A service to celebrate Mark's life will be 1:00 p.m. Monday, March 16, 2015 at Thornburg Memorial Chapel of Parker City, IN. Burial will follow in Blountsville Cemetery.
Family and friends may gather to share and remember from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
