Marvin "Woody" Wiggins, 76, of Leicester, died on Thursday, May 17, 2018, at the Memorial Campus of Mission Hospitals.

A native of Bryson City, NC, Woody was a son of the late Elizabeth Woody Brock. He was also preceded in death by his step-daughter, Wendy Yarborough; sister, June Cook; and brothers, William and Tim Brock.

Mr. Wiggins was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in the Vietnam War in communications. He later worked for many years as a pipe fitter. In "retirement," he owned and operated many convenience stores with his wife, Joyce.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce Caldwell Wiggins; daughters, Angela Emory, Marvelene Lindsay (Tim), and Tammy Rigdon (Tommy); son, Woody Eugene Wiggins (Debbie); step-daughter, Rebecca Leicht (Eugene); step-son, David West (Vicki); sister, Brenda Neal (Jimmy); brothers, Harry Brock (Elizabeth L.) and Ron Brock; 10 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and many other family members.

The funeral service for Mr. Wiggins will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Sunday at the Groce Funeral Home chapel on Patton Ave. Pastors Allen Rash and Ricky Townsend will officiate. His family will receive friends beginning at 2:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Interment will take place the following day at 11:00 a.m., Monday, at Forest Lawn Memorial Park with military honors performed by the North Carolina National Guard Honor Guard.
