Juniata resident William J. “Bill” Cantrell, 66, passed away Sunday, October 28, 2018, at his home.
Celebration of Life is 10 a.m. Saturday, November 3, at Butler Volland Chapel in Hastings with Chaplain John Mueller officiating. Private family burial will be at a later date.
Bill was born January 3, 1952, to Lewis & Winifred (Witthuhn) Cantrell. He graduated from Hastings High School in 1970. Bill served in the U.S. Navy as a torpedoman on the USS Drum from January 18, 1972, to January 15, 1976; he was honorably discharged. He married Shelly Weseman on February 28, 1987.
Bill worked as an electrician from 1976 until 2001, finally realizing his dream job of City Electrical Inspector for the City of Hastings where he retired due to ill health.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Chuck; and sister, Judy.
