ALLISON, George (Bill) W., 84, also known as "Corky", passed away Tuesday, May 15, 2018 quietly at home surrounded by his family after a courageous battle with cancer. He is survived by his wife (65 years of marriage), Marilyn and 4 children; Debra (Charles) Sweet, Brenda (Larry) Staton, Teresa Allison and Kristina Pilkington. 3 siblings, Shirley (Joe) Loeffelman, Wanda (Bill) Miller, Jane Lucas. Sister-in-laws Dottie ("Butch") Allison and Barbara (Bill) Parker, brother-in-laws Dave (Alice) Bratton, Don (Bonnie) Bratton and Butch (Sue) Bratton. 28 nieces and nephews. George was preceded in death by son, Richard W., brother, Richard M. "Butch", and granddaughter, Jennifer. Graduate of Kiser High School in 1952. He was a member of Kiser Alumni, coordinated alumni outings/activities with a core group of Kiser classmates. Also member of East Dayton Optimist, VFW 3283, Belmont Business Association and Vandalia Senior Center. George retired from the commercial printing industry in 2010 with the closure of his print shop, Classic Design and Printing. His smile and laughter was contagious extending his immediate family with many other loved ones, near and far, family and friends. He was blessed with 11 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren who became an important part in his life over 34 years. George enjoyed traveling with his wife, teaching and watching his grandchildren fish, supporting them in their school/athletic activities, and was an avid card player (Pinochle) knowing every card that had been played. He also enjoyed steam engine trains, NASCAR racing, Indy Brickyard and doing jigsaw puzzles. College (IU, Ball State, Purdue) follower and sports enthusiasts (baseball, soccer, basketball, lacrosse and band) as well as the Indianapolis Colts. Dad (Grandpa/Pawpaw) #1 supporter and fan. Funeral arrangements by Tobias Funeral Home (Belmont). Gathering of family and friends will be held on Thursday, May 24 from 1:00 to 3:00 at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens Chapel, New Carlisle, Ohio with services followed by graveside prayer at 3:00. A special thank you to Dr. Thuney, Dr. Booz, Hospice and staff members for their support and loving care during his illness as well as family members who gave countless hours assisting Mom with his care. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Kiser High School Scholarship Fund or Hospice of Dayton.
