Services for Bernice Alford Summerlin will be held 4:00 p.m. Saturday, May 19, 2018 at Cooper Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Greenlawn Cemetery.

Visitation will be held 3:00-4:00 prior to the service at the funeral home.

Ms. Summerlin, 83, died Thursday, May 17, 2018 at the Methodist Manor in Florence.

Born in Horry County, SC, May 31, 1934, she was the daughter of the late William G. Alford and Reba Willoughby Alford.

She was a member of Main Street United Methodist Church, and was retired from St. Eugene Hospital as a Registered Nurse and Nursing Supervisor.

Survivors include her children, Joe C. Summerlin, Jr. (Sandy) of Richfield, NC, Donna S. Everett (Jeff) of PawPaw, WV, and Tina Summerlin of Marion; grandchildren, Chad Stephens, Marcus Stephens, Adam Summerlin and Wesley Summerlin; great-grandchildren, London, Liam, and Alexander; sister, Juanice Terry of Florence.

Mrs. Summerlin was preceded in death by her brothers, Carlie Alford, and Malcolm Alford; and her sisters, Grace Herring and Gladys Everheart.

Memorials may be made to the South Carolina Disabilities and Special Needs, 3440 Harden St., Columbia, SC 29203.
