NEWPORT -- Graveside rites for Boyd E. Bottorff, Lone Grove, will be 2 p.m. Friday at Newport Cemetery with the Rev. Milton Murphy officiating.

Bottorff died Nov. 18, 1997, at his home after an extended illness. He was born Aug. 7, 1918, in Downs, Kan., to Wilbur S. and Rose Schneider Bottorff.

He served with the Army during World War II and was employed by the government as an offset cinematographer/photographer before he retired and worked as a carpenter. He had been a resident of this area the past 35 years. He and Madeline Hoggard were married April 1, 1949, in Dillon, S.C.

Survivors include his wife; and daughter, Dianna Bottorff, of the home; two sons, Marshall, Tehachapi, Calif., and Wesley, Industry, Ill.; a sister, Virginia Schaefer, Waco, Texas; a brother, Richard, Alexandria, Va.; and a granddaughter.

Honorary bearers will be Jack Harvey, Jack Donham, Harold Wayne Dudley and Steve Breed.

Craddock Funeral Home will direct services.
