The will of William Grant says, “And it is my wish that after my death, unless circumstances should prevent that my body may be deposited at or near where my two children are buried at the place formerly belonging to my father but at this time to Mr. Pettus, and that everything necessary on this occasion, should be prepared in a plane [sic] & neat manner, and it is requested that there may be a paling or enclosure, kept around those or any other of the family that may be there buried.”
