Born December 9, 1961 in Mitchell County, Mrs. Goodwin was the daughter of the late Burley Barfield and Virginia Holt Barfield. She was preceded in death by a brother, Glenn Barfield. Mrs. Goodwin was a homemaker and had worked for the sewing factory.
Survivors include her husband, Donnie Goodwin of Vada; her children, Michael Presley (Kelly) of Camp Lejeune, NC, Melissa Long (Richard) of Vada, Daniel Presley (Rachel) of Quantico, VA, Donna Tabb (Shannon) of Vada, and Virginia Goodwin of Pelham; three sisters, Mary Johnson of Pelham, Martha Harrell of Bainbridge, and Joyce Childers of Sylvester; two brothers, Steve Barfield and Joe Barfield, both of Newton; nineteen grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
