Gerald Dean Burns, 89, of Jonesboro, Arkansas went to be with the Lord on Wednesday May 16, 2018 at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House.

Gerald was born in Mountain View, Arkansas on February 3, 1929 to the late Monroe and Coetta Mae Shores Burns.

Gerald lived in Jonesboro most of his life, was a retired punch press operator, U.S. Army Korean War Veteran and a faithful member of the Christian Life Center.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Calvin, Gilbert, Hubert, Dennis, Bob, Ancle and Billy Burns, sisters, Edna Brown and Alma Ramos.

Survived by his wife, Patti Burns of the home.
Daughter, Janice Lea Orr (Ed “Buster”) of Jonesboro.
Son, David Burns of Mountain View, Arkansas.
Brother, Carl Burns of Harviell, Missouri.
Sister, Thelma Powell of Timbo, Arkansas and Myrtle Mae Everidge of Mountain View, Arkansas.
Granddaughter Sherry Hufstedler (Farris ) of Jonesboro.
Great granddaughters, Jessica Henninger (Tanner) and Samantha Swindle both of Jonesboro and 2 great-great grandsons, Hunter and Reece Henninger.

Memorial services were held at Brooklyn Christian Life Center. He was cremated. Burial was private with Emerson Funeral Home in charge.
