MOUNT AIRY, NC ~ Mrs. Nancy Jane Monday Casstevens, 77, of 959 Old Hwy 52, wife of Mr. Paul Henry Casstevens, died at her home early Thursday morning, Jan. 29, 2004.

Mrs. Casstevens was born Feb. 16, 1926, in Carroll County, Va., to the late James Kelly and Nettie Easter Monday.

She was a homemaker and a member of the Church of God of Prophecy.

Surviving is her husband, Paul H. Casstevens of the home; a daughter and son-in-law, Phyllis Ann and Phil Wagoner of Sparta; five sons and daughters-in-law: Paul Weldon and Lynn Casstevens of Mount Airy, Ronnie Dean and Debbie Casstevens of Mount Airy, Robert Mitchell and Debbie Casstevens of Mount Airy, Alfred Lee and Sharon Casstevens of Sparta, and Harold Gray and Dora Casstevens of Mount Airy; 11 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; a sister, Mary M. Greenwood of Mount Airy; and a special niece, Gail Munday of Mount Airy.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Casstevens was preceded in death by a daughter, Kathlene Casstevens; two sisters; and four brothers.

The funeral service will be held at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 31, at Moody Funeral Home of Mount Airy, conducted by the Rev. Rick Brogden and the Rev. Jack Anderson. Burial will follow in the New Life Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today, Jan. 30, at Moody Funeral Home, where her body will remain until the hour of the service.
