Ann I. Torcellini Shields, 90, of New Haven, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 7, 2013 at the Avallon Health Center, Mystic. She was the wife of the late William T. Shields. Ann was born in West Haven on December 20, 1922; daughter of the late Raffaele and Pauline Petrini Torcellini. Ann was a member of the Mother's of Notre Dame, West Haven and Mother’s of the former Saint Mary’s High School, New Haven. Beloved mother of Charlene A. Johnston (Philip Carney), William T. Shields, Jr. (Nancy), Cormac G. Shields (Terry Coombs) and the late Karen P. Shields. Sister of Victoria Maclellan and the late Lawrence Torcellini, Ethel Sullivan and Katherine Fenton. Also survived by six grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.
