Fort Bend Herald, May 16, 2018:

Funeral service for Mrs. Almeda Crump-Harris, 59, of Richmond, will be 3:00 PM on Friday, May 18, 2018, at Greater New Prospect Baptist Church, 14020 W. Richmond Street, Needville, Texas 77461 where Rev. A. L. Edwards is pastor and Pastor Walter Turner will be the eulogist. Burial will follow at Peaceful Rest Cemetery in Needville. Visitation will be on Thursday, May 17, 2018 from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM at E. Viola & Son Funeral Home. Additional viewing will be on Friday, May 18, 2018, from 2:00 PM until service time at the church.

Almeda was born in Fort Bend County November 28, 1958, to the late J.D. Crump and Almetrie Davison and passed away on Tuesday, May 8, 2018 at Methodist Hospital in Houston surrounded by family.

She was reared by her mother and step-father, Charles Barnes in West Columbia where she attended public school at CBISD and graduated in the class of 1977. To further her education, she attended Prairie View University and went as far as being caped for Nursing. She later attended University of Houston where she received a Bachelor's Degree in Education. She joined Blue Run Baptist Church in West Columbia at an early age under the leadership of Rev. E. L. Carroll and later joined Grace Congregational Church in Houston under the leadership of Pastor Walter Turner.

She enjoyed knitting, spending time talking with family and friends and she had a special love for all kids. She will be missed.

Almeda was proceeded in death by her father, J.D. Crump; sisters, Celestine Crump Woosley, Annie Bell Crump: mother and father in-law; Alphonse & Florence Harris, Sr.; grandparents, Luther B. & Estella Washington.

Almeda leaves to cherish precious memories her husband, Alphonse Harris Jr.; son, Benjamin Hill; godson, Kelton Traylar; parents, Almetria & Charlie Barnes; brothers, Bobby Crump (Meagan), Tony Crump (Lillian), Lester Crump (Cheryl), Deandre Barnes (Danna), and Walter Crump; sisters, Dinnie Miller (Lester), Annie Ellis (Wendell), June Perry (Al), Kathy and Wanda Crump; god-brother, Alvin Grice, Jr (Cassandra); sisters-in-law, Florence J. Brown and Dorothy Newman; brother in law, Robert Woosley, Sr.; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews; special uncle, Eddie D. Washington. Almeda had two special friends that she held dear to her heart, Vera Romero and Jeriua Johnson.
