Robert "Snookey" Miller Deaton, Jr.,67 of Charlotte, died Thursday, May 3, 2018.
Born in Charlotte, Snookey was the son of the late Robert and Eleanor (McKnight) Deaton.
A native Charlottean and graduate of South Mecklenburg, Mr. Deaton had been employed as a produce manager for Food Lion before retiring. He was also a longtime member of Maranatha Baptist Church.
Besides his parents, Robert was preceded in death by his wife of 40 years Donna Lee (Voltz) Deaton.
Survivors include his wife Maria Imelda Najarro; children Crissy (Tony) Lagasse; Josh (Becca) Deaton, Michelle Deaton-Blasko (Milton), and Ashley Deaton; step daughter Gabriela Martinez; grandchildren Nicholas and Sarah Lagasse, TJ Moore, Kaleb, Nathan and Makenzie Deaton, Brittany and Tylor Blasko, Taylor Young and Cheyenne Bledsoe. Also surviving are 2 great grandchildren and a close friend Simon Ramirez.
Visitation will take place Monday, May7th at 1 PM at Maranatha Baptist Church, 3028 Rocky River Rd, Charlotte with a funeral service to follow at 2 PM. Burial will be in Sunset Memory Gardens.
