She was born March 21, 1923 in Brookside, WI, the twelfth child of the late Abe and Mary (Rowell) Hyland. Doris was employed as a waitress & bartender throughout her working years in the Aurora and Coleman, WI areas. Her passion was cooking, baking and canning for family and friends. She was happiest playing cards and telling jokes.
Doris is survived by two daughters, Judy (Joe) Dolson and Dorothy Wilkey, both of Kelly Lake, WI; grandchildren, Deanna (John) Barrington, Robin Bartholomew, and Kelly (Jeff) Tomko Ewing; great grandchildren, Stephanie (Matthew) McCutchin, Nathaniel Bartholomew and Chelsea Bartholomew; great-great grandchildren, Rylan and Nevaeh Flesch; a sister, Violet Putman; her special friend of many years, Joyce Gaberial; step-children, Jerry (Donna) Kriegl, Yvonne (David) Olsen, and Sandy (Jay) Schabloski; a daughter-in-law, Simone Kriegl; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a son, Frank Tomko, Jr.; a son-in-law, Kenneth Wilkey; 11 brothers and sisters; her husbands, Frank Tomko, Sr. , Jack Valitchka and Carl Kriegl of 34 years; and a step-son, John “Jack” Kriegl.
