Tommy Clayton Sanders, 74, passed away May 12, 2018 in Vian, Oklahoma. He was born March 11, 1944 at Dwight Mission in Sallisaw, Oklahoma to Hooley and Telitha (Welch) Sanders.

Tommy married Janice Carol Blount of McKey, Oklahoma on August 8, 1964. Mr. Sanders enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, cookouts, and visiting with family and friends. He loved playing pitch with his kids. He worked many years at General Motors in Kansas City, Missouri and retired after 22 years at Borg-Warner in Sallisaw. Tommy loved his family dearly and his grandchildren brought him so much joy and happiness. He was of Baptist faith.

He is survived by his wife, Janice; children, Kevin and Dana Sanders, Lisa and Alvin Hahn, Jeff and Christy Sanders; grandchildren, Kevin Jr., Corey Jay, Kimberly, Gregory, Cody, Ciara, Jonathon; great-grandchildren, Trevor, Addison, Katelyn, Clayton, Ruger; sister, Jane Vanderboom; brother, Arthur “Sonny” Sanders.

Mr. Sanders was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Charlie, Gus, Jack, Mose, John and Bill; sisters, Mary James, Katherine Hill, and Glennie Wilson.

Graveside services will be held Friday, May 18, 2018 at 10am in the Dwight Mission Cemetery. Rev Curtis Bias and Pastor Merle Rowe will officiate. Pallbearers are Cody Sanders, Corey Sanders, Greg Hahn, Corey Alexander, Mikey Lee and Jonathon Plank.

The family of Mr. Sanders has entrusted Forever Memories Funeral Services, Sallisaw, with the arrangements.
