Obituary of Mary Ruth Barksdale
Funeral services will be held, Tuesday, May 15, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at Collier-Butler Chapel for Mary Barksdale, who died Sunday, May 13, 2018 in Montgomery. The Rev. Randy Gunter will officiate. Internment will follow in Crestwood Mausoleum with Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services directing. Mrs. Barksdale was a native of DeKalb County and had resided in Etowah County most of her life. She was a member of Meadowbrook Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Irby and Irene Robinson and her husband, Rev. Reuben Barksdale, Jr. She is survived by her son, Jeff Barksdale (Alva); grand-daughter, Lauren Jackson (Ryan); grandson, Christopher Barksdale (Kayla); great grand-daughters, Ava Claire Jackson and Adler Barksdale; brother, Dorman Robinson; sister, Marlene Johnson; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Pallbearers will be Christopher Barksdale, Ryan Jackson, Brad Johnson, Keith Gilmore, Josh Gilmore and Jeremy Gilmore. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to Meadowbrook Baptist Church Building Fund or Senior Adult Group or Eagle Rock Ranch, 832 Burgess Road, Attalla, AL 35954. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
