Edwin George Mitchell, 83, was born in Ayr, North Dakota to Howard and Lois (Green) Mitchell on February 8, 1937. He peacefully passed away September 25, 2020 surrounded by loved ones in Auburn Washington. His passion for life was undeniable. He loved his family and ever so many friends.
He had jobs which included Telegrapher at the Great Northern Railroad, truck driver, driving a metro bus, real estate and insurance sales. However, he will best be known for his absolute love of flying he was a wonderful skilled pilot and became a flight instructor. His calm demeanor made him the best teacher a student could ask for. He was a loving, caring, and Non-judgmental person who family and friends from near and far will miss him greatly. There wasn’t a family event he would miss, especially if that event included good food!
He is preceded in death by his loving son Edwin (Win) Mitchell II, mother Lois, father Howard, and his brothers Kenny and Donny.
Edwin is survived by his wife Barbara (Bobbie ) brother William (Bill) , Son Bruce and wife Gwen Mitchell, son Brian Mitchell, Daughter Joy Welch and husband Mike, and Brenda Mitchell, Stepdaughters Sheri Carter and husband Rob and Judy Smith husband Robert. 12 grandchildren Erin Welch Hocking, Carl Welch, Crystal Mitchell, Chad Mitchell, Brittney Pederson, Jared Pederson, Ivan Mitchell, Ian Mitchell, Devon Carter, Jesse Carter, Josephine Smith, and Garrett Johnson and many great grandchildren.
Funeral service will be at the Church of Jesus Christ of latter day Saints 1820 F St SE in Auburn, Washington on October 15, 2020 at 11 am with honorable graveside service that will be held at Tahoma National Cemetery at 2 PM on October 15, 2020.
