Much too soon, surrounded by her family, Gisele peacefully joined her Creator.

Gisele was born at St. Boniface Hospital 64 years ago. She grew up on the farm in Benard, MB with her eight siblings. She attended school in Elie and Notre-Dame de Lourdes. She excelled as a student and began her outstanding teaching career at the tender age of 16. From that time on she spent many years enriching the lives of her young students.

Her love of teaching others was evident in all that she did. Her many accomplishments were recognized and appreciated by her colleagues. She touched the lives of everyone who knew her. She had a servants heart, and was happiest when tending to her family and friends.

She expressed her love by her actions, often anticipating the needs of others. Her examples of courage, leadership, and love have enriched the lives of many. She set her standards high and lived by them without compromise. She worked tirelessly at all things that were important to her.

Family traditions were dear to her heart. She was a terrific cook and thoroughly enjoyed entertaining; she always put on a classy affair. Recently, she spent a great deal of time caring for her grandchildren, Gabrielle and Danielle Daudet, Brett and Garrett Saunders. They were her pride and joy! Her Joie de Vive was enhanced with every precious moment she spent with them.

She will be missed by her two children, her beloved husband; her four stepchildren and their spouses, her three grandchildren, her sisters and a brother-in-law, her two brothers and a sister-in-law, her husband's sisters and their spouses, her husband's brothers and their spouses, her children's father, his brothers and their spouses, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Gisele was predeceased by her father Henri Houde; her mother Aldea Houde-St. Germain; her brothers, Roland, Alfred; her stepfather Henri St. Germain; her brothers-in-law, Meril Zastre, Marcel Bouchard, Maurice Allard; her mother-in-law Marianne Daudet; her sister-in-law Kathy Fritschy.

The celebration of her life will begin with 7:00 p.m. prayers on Friday, September 7 at Desjardins Funeral Chapel, 357 rue Des Meurons, with the service to be held on Saturday, September 8 at 11:00 a.m. at Mary Mother of the Church on 85 Kirkbridge Rd., with Fr. Ron Leger presiding.

The family would like to thank the compassionate staff at Selkirk General Hospital, Health Sciences Centre and especially the MICU and Palliative Care Unit at the St. Boniface Hospital.

If friends so desire, donations in Giseles honour may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

The Desjardins Funeral Chapel in care of arrangements.
