John Quinton Capps, Jr.

John Quinton Capps, Jr., 66, of Bay St. Louis, MS passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Friday, May 4, 2018 in Bay St. Louis, MS.

A native son of Texas and a retired tugboat captain, he enjoyed relating tales of growing up on a working ranch in Texas and working the rivers and bayous by tug and shrimp boats. He was of the Baptist faith. He was a wonderful and loving husband, father and grandfather who will be missed by his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John & Otis Leann Capps, Sr. and sister, Pam Capps.

He is survived by his loving wife, Tania R. Capps of Bay St. Louis, MS; Cherri Fune, mother of his son, Shawn Capps of Salinas, CA; Danna Capps, mother of his two daughters, Shannon Herald (Michael) of Bella Vista, AR and Shelley Chauvin (Tim) of Houston, TX; two grandchildren, Colin Ballay and Gwendolyn Herald and one on the way.

A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
