Mr. Jenkins was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served in Germany. He was retired from Carmon Products in Elgin, Illinois. He was also a former employee of the railroad in Chicago. He enjoyed fishing and mathematics.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons, Gerald Jenkins and Jeffery Jenkins; and nine siblings.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Reva Elliott Jenkins; one daughter, Cheryl Jenkins Reece of Princeton; his twin-brother, Troy Jenkins and wife Evelyn of Princeton; 10 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 16, 2018 at the Bailey-Kirk Funeral Home in Princeton with the Rev. Larry Dyer officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton where military honors will be conducted by the Mercer County Veterans Honor Guard.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, May 16, 2018 from noon until service hour at the Bailey-Kirk Funeral Home in Princeton.
