Barbara Ann Witt, 86, of West Concord, died Saturday, May 12, 2018 at St. Marys Hospital, Rochester.
She was born October 30, 1931 in Rochester the daughter of Vincent and Zettie (Nelson) Pirkl. Barb grew up on a farm in Concord Township and graduated from West Concord High School. She married Wayne Witt on December 30, 1952 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. They spent most of their lives in Rochester, West Concord and Boca Raton, FL. Barb was a stay at home mom in the early years and once the kids were grown she worked at Farmers State Bank in West Concord. She enjoyed spending time with family, gardening (especially growing cucumbers for pickling), reading, knitting, doing puzzles and bird watching. She was an avid fan of her grandchildren’s sports events. Barb was a member of St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church.
She is survived by her daughter, Brenda (and Clair) Boyum of Kenyon; son, Larry (and Tyra) Witt of Pine Island; grandsons, Bradley (and Elizabeth) Boyum, Curtis (and Elizabeth) Boyum, David (and Tricia) Boyum; great grandchildren, Brooklyn, Jackson & Davisen Boyum, Isabella & Charlie Boyum, Sydney & Sylvia Boyum; sister, Mary Kay (and Ron) Agerter of Esconaba, MI.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Witt and great granddaughter, Brynn Boyum.
Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home, West Concord Chapel on Wednesday from 4pm to 7pm and at St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church on Thursday from 9:30am to 10:30am. Memorial services will be held Thursday, May 17, 2018 at 10:30am at St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church. Interment will be in the St. Vincent De Paul Cemetery in West Concord.
