Ann Hayes Cooper of Wynne died Friday, May 11, 2018 at her home; she was 90 years old.
Ann was born in Vardaman, Mississippi to Carl and Louise McCord. Her dad worked for the government and they moved to several Mississippi towns. She graduated from high school in Tupelo, Mississippi and attended college.
She married Dr. Bob Hayes in 1951 and moved to Wynne, Arkansas in 1952. They made their home in Wynne and raised two children, Dr. Rob Hayes and Lee McKnight. Ann married Jere Ben Cooper in 1988. Ann was a member of First United Methodist Church since 1952 and was still very active in her church. She was a member of two bridge clubs and very active in the Town and Country Garden Club, P.E.O.,Women's Progressive Club and Ladies Golf Association at Crowley's Ridge Country Club.
She is survived by Dr. Rob Hayes and wife Retha, Lee McKnight and husband Rodney, James Cooper and wife Lanier, Ben Cooper and wife Cheryl, sister Carolyn “Honey” Maxwell, and grandchildren Whitney, Drew,and Emry Hayes, Morgan and Taylor McKnight, Jessie Tyer, Cassie, Alyssa, Carly, Emily,Charlie and Hadley Cooper.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Louise McCord and husbands, Dr. Bob Hayes in 1981 and Jere Ben Cooper in 2007.
Visitation will be held at Kernodle Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 15, 2018 from 1 PM until 2 PM with graveside memorial service to follow at Cogbill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Wynne or to the Friends of the Library.
