Connie Rae Rhees Warren Ward, 91, of Spanish Fork, Utah, passed away on April 17, 2018, to reunite with loved ones.

She was born to Frances May Cragun and Rueben George Rhees on December 7, 1926 in Pleasant View, Utah. She enjoyed much of her childhood in the foothills of Ben Lomond Peak. She married Charles Henry Warren, in the Logan, Utah LDS temple, on August 7, 1946. They had three young daughters, De Anne, (Connie) Jill and Jana Rae Warren. Charles passed away unexpectedly in 1952. Connie then met Le Grand B. Ward widower. Le Grand and his first wife, Helen Lucille Donaldson, were parents of three young daughters, Karen Rae, Adele and Lynette Ward. Connie and Le Grand were married in the Salt Lake City, Utah, LDS temple on September 8, 1953. Connie and Le Grand had two sons, Kelly L. and Tyler R. Ward.

Connie was educated in North Ogden, Utah. She graduated from Weber High School in 1945 as a proud “Weber Warrior.” She attended Weber State College on a Speech scholarship.Eventually she graduated from Brigham Young University in 1985. Proudly, at age 58, she earned her Associate Degree in Humanities. She is an inspiration to all.

Connie had an eternal love for her family. She welcomed and enjoyed having everyone in her home. It was a joyful and loving gathering place. She was always an example of service, generosity, commitment and love. Family was her focus. She was the mother to eight children, 31 grandchildren, 80 great-grandchildren and 1 great, great. She had a unique ability to let each one know how remarkable, awesome and special they are. No one felt more loved than those who were able to spend time with Connie. She believed in being and doing your best at all times.

She was a lady in every sense of the word. She loved and lived life to the fullest while laughing and singing enthusiastically. Connie faithfully compiled thousands of pages in many photo albums and records dedicated to family history and genealogy.

Connie loved music. She was an accomplished pianist, organist and vocalist. She sang and performed with a talented and well-known trio for over 30 years. She believed that ANYONE could sing. She directed area, stake, ward choirs, wrote and directed numerous musical programs, composed Christmas cantatas and enjoyed hearing music ring loud and clear.

Connie served her community in a variety of positions. Some were Brockbank Elementary School’s first PTA president, member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers, Spanish Fork Community Theatre Board, and Spanish Fork Senior Citizens committees.She worked for Nature’s Sunshine Products and for the Brigham Young University in Department of Student Housing as a receptionist.

Connie loved the Lord and was a dedicated and life-longmember of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She faithfully served in many callings including Palmyra Stake Primary President, all levels of music positions including music coordinator and choir director. She held positions in ward and stake auxiliaries,Young Woman’s Secretary (at age 83) and served with her husband Le Grand as Orienting Hosts at the Provo, Utah MTC.

What Connie loved most was: the gospel of Jesus Christ, family, music, life, the flag, patriotism,books, theater, sea shells, walking on a beach, light houses, mountains, snow, rocks, honey, respect for the veterans, bagpipes, focus on family values and family togetherness and her many prominent and pioneer ancestors.

She is survived by brothers, Reuben “Butch” Rhees, and Ray (Vickie) Rhees, sister, Geneil (Kent) VanKampen. She is also survived by children, Karen Rae (Jim) Lundahl, De Anne Warren, Adele (Allen) Coray, Lynette (Gary) Culley, Jana Rae Warren, and Tyler (Anita) Ward.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, second mother, Thelma L. Rhees; children, Connie Jill Clark and Kelly Le Grand Ward; sisters, Frances Pearl Burt and Renae Linford.

A viewing will be held Friday, April 27th, at the Walker Mortuary, 187 S. Main, Spanish Fork, Utah, from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held Saturday April 28th, at 11:00 a.m., at the Spanish Fork West Stake Center, 575 W. 400 N., Spanish Fork, Utah, with a viewing held prior from 9:30 -10:30 a.m. Interment will be in the Ben Lomond Cemetery, 556 E. 2900 N., North Ogden, Utah at 4:30 p.m.
