Gary Lynn Greenlee Sr. passed away peacefully at his home in Poplar Bluff, Missouri on May 10, 2018.

Gary was born July 25, 1956 to Joseph Lawrence Greenlee Jr. and Nadine (McGee) Greenlee of Doniphan, Missouri. Gary was a former police officer for the city of Poplar Bluff, Missouri. He later became an entrepreneur, and he operated Double GG Trucking for over 12 years. Gary was a lifetime member of the Church of Christ. He was also a highly active member of the Masonic Lodge in Doniphan, earning a 3rd degree Master Mason and had been past Worshipful Master 5 times. He was also a lifetime member of the NRA. Gary never met a stranger. He always loved learning about other people’s lives and made it a point to get to know everyone he could. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, sports (especially the St. Louis Cardinals), and spending time with his family and friends.

Gary is survived by his two children: Gary Greenlee Jr and Chelsie Greenlee. Also surviving are his mother Nadine Greenlee, his siblings Sandra Greenlee and Larry Greenlee, as well as two nieces Crystal Greenlee and Amber Greenlee and one nephew Wesley Greenlee. Also surviving are special cousins, Alan and Kathy Slayton and Cheryl Slayton and aunt, Betty Slayton and uncle, Jerry Greenlee.

The family would like to give an extremely special thank you to Gary’s special caretaker and beloved friend Lesa Smith.

Visitation will begin at noon Saturday, May 12, 2018, at the Edwards Funeral Home in Doniphan. The funeral service will start at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Brother Steve Sanders officiating. Burial will follow in the Hunt-White Cemetery in Doniphan.
