Robert Justice ‘Bob’ McClellan, age 73, of Swiss Pine Lake Drive in Spruce Pine died Tuesday, April 17, 2018 at the John F. Keever Solace Center in Asheville.

Born on May 25, 1944 in Mitchell County, he was the son of the late Robert McClellan, Sr. and Edith Ollis McClellan. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Pamela Dawn Trivette.

Bob was a member of the Bethel Missionary Baptist Church and was retired from Grassy Creek Construction. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and being around his house. He also enjoyed watching sports, traveling, and fishing, particularly deep sea fishing.

Left to cherish his memories are his wife of fifty-five years; Louise Wilson McClellan of the home; his mother; Edith McClellan of Hickory; his son-in-law; Tony Trivette of Spruce Pine; his foster children; Yana Green and husband, Tim of Spruce Pine; Austin Butler of Erwin, TN; and Jennifer Ray of Leicester; his grandchildren; Nikki Trivette of Spruce Pine and Chad Trivette and wife, Stephanie of Littleton, CO; foster grandchildren; Hannah April, Kimberly, Lily and Cameron; great grandson; Joseph Robert Trivette of Littleton, CO; foster great grandchildren; Gracie, Rebecca, Haley, Elaina, Malachi, Eliza and Carter; and his brothers; Charles McClellan and wife, Elaine and Roger McClellan and wife, Nancy all of Hickory; Gene McClellan and wife, Anita of Newland and Gerald McClellan and wife, Dici of Spruce Pine.

The family respectfully requests the honor of your presence at the funeral service honoring the life of Bob McClellan on Saturday, April 21, 2018 at 4:30 pm at the Bethel Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev’s Darrin Waldroup and Allen Laws officiating. A time to support the family, share memories and receive friends will be on Saturday, April 21, 2018 from 3:00 pm until 4:30 pm at the church. Interment will follow in the Bethel Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.
