Born in Pittsfield on May 3, 1947 to Lawrence A. Callahan and Ellen Walsh Callahan, Pat grew up with his sisters, Debbie, Mary "Molly", and Susan.

From an early age, Pat enjoyed fishing, carpentry and going to the beach.

As a Boy Scout, Pat enjoyed camping a love that he shared through life with his family.

On a more humorous level, in 1955 Pat won a prize in the annual Boys Club Halloween event for his Woody Woodpecker costume.

Following graduation from Pittsfield High School in June 1966, Pat enlisted in the United States Army Reserves.

In 1966, after completing Basic Training for the Reserves, Pat began his 50-year career at General Electric Company in the Power Transformer Division moving to an assembler position when General Electric left Pittsfield and General Dynamics came in.

He predeceased his former wife, mother of his children, and caregiver, Rosemary D. DiMartino; their daughters, Debby and Kristi; four grandchildren; and his sisters, Susan and Mary, also known as Bonnie.

His sister, Deborah M. Callahan, predeceased him.
