Services will be Wednesday, May 16, 2018, at 11:00 AM in the Rosewood Chapel at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home with Eric Dickey and Eddy Pitchford officiating.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Tuesday at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel.
Ronnie was born to James C. and Jewell E. Dunlap in Big Spring.
He married his love, Cindy Parmer, July 25, 1978. To their union four children were born, James L., Allen E., Jennifer M., and Adam R.
During his life, he was a true jack of all trades. He began his early career working as a mechanic for his uncle, Foy Dunlap. He was a welder's helper for Bernie's Welding and Crane Services. He learned to operate a crane when working at O. I. L. Following that he was an equipment operator for Universal Construction until an injury, causing lifetime disability.
He loved and doted on his nine grandchildren and was very proud of his children.
He is survived by his wife, Cindy; children, James of Big Spring, Allen and wife, Jennifer of Midland, Jennifer Rowan and husband, Rob of Big Spring, and Adam and wife, Shamayne of Midland. His grandchildren, Christopher, D'Amberly, J. R., Rachel and Ryan of Big Spring, Caleb, Remi and Jaxon of Midland, and Brianna Rowan of Tulsa, OK. His siblings, Mary Gowen of Midland, Carol Wright and husband, Bud of Sand Springs, Gary and wife, Ruth of Lufkin, Gerald and wife, Kenda of Illinois, and Jannetta Penn and husband, Cal of Odessa, along with a special sister-in-law, Wanda Weissmiller. Also surviving are his mother-in-law, Norma Honn; brother-in-law, John Honn; and sisters-in-law, Glenna Sook and Shauna Ruhland all of Iowa. He has many nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James C. and Jewell Dunlap; a sister, Sharron Walls; a brother, James C., Jr.; a niece, Elizabeth Dunlap; and three nephews, Mark, Paul and Jeffery Dunlap; and his father-in-law, Willard Parmer.
Pallbearers will be Joel Howard, Gary Plew, Jody Reid, D.F. Stanley, Bryan Watson and Ronald Shults. Honorary pallbearers will be employees of the Howard County Sheriff's Office.
