NORTH BLOOMFIELD ; Janice A. Spano Horton, 79, gained her angel's wings on Thursday, May 3, 2018, at home surrounded by her family, after a battle with cancer.

She was born April 22, 1939, in Warren, to Joseph Spano and Stella Konopka Spano Dugan.

Janice attended Warren G. Harding High School where she was a member of the cheerleading squad.

She went on to marry the love of her life, Carl R. Horton, on March 5, 1960. They enjoyed 58 wonderful years of marriage and they fulfilled their dream of enjoying country life, family and helping just about anyone that needed it. She was dedicated to her duties of being a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She also loved animals and she enjoyed fishing, bowling, reading, the outdoors and most of all family time.

She will be sadly missed by her husband, Carl R. Horton; daughters, Tangi Day, Karla (Kevin) Hartill and Sharon Walters; grandchildren, Donald (Chris) Day, Jordan Stevenson, Jaycee Butcher, Troy (Anna) Roper and Mark (Becky) Roper Jr.; and several other grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as well as many other family members and friends.

Besides her parents, Janice also was preceded in death by her sister, Joyce Spano; and grandsons, Clifford Day and Daniel Day.
