Clarence Doyle “Bat” Lassiter, 87, of 108 Charlene Drive, Elizabeth City, NC, died Thursday, May 10, 2018 at his residence. A native of Pasquotank County, he was born August 2, 1930 to the late Luther Clement Lassiter and Florence Lee Stowe Lassiter and was the husband of sixty-one years of the late Barbara Roughton Lassiter. Bat served his country honorably in the US Air Force. He was retired from the Norfolk Naval Shipyard, was a master boat builder and had a deep and abiding love of his family.
He is survived by two daughters, Paula Lassiter Stevenson and husband Nick, and Tracy Lassiter Polk and husband Jim; three sons, Clarence Doyle Lassiter, Jr. and wife Pam, Michael Ray Lassiter and wife Janie and Jeffrey Keith Lassiter and wife Teresa; ten grandchildren, Brandy, Bobbi-Jo, Mikey, Jeremy, Jason, Joseph, Matthew, Joshua, Jimmy and Sean; and four great grandchildren, Brylee, Ryland, Zander and Keira. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Margaret Austin, Ida Reid, Helon Price and Minnie L. Cuthrell and brothers, Charles Edward Lassiter and Luther “Wimpy” Clement Lassiter, Jr.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, May 14, 2018 at West Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery
