Paul was born January 18, 1980, the son of Lynn and Rhonda (Borud) Dalen, in Minot, ND. He was raised and educated in Minot. He then attended college in South Dakota until his passion for snowboarding led him to become a snowboard instructor in the Black Hills of South Dakota
Paul married the love of his life, Jennifer Pangrac on August 12, 2006, at Augustana Lutheran Church in Minot. They made their home in Minot, where he was as a carpenter by trade. Paul had a passion for life, friends, and family, followed closely by snowboarding and golf. Paul loved his three fur babies, Ramsey, Zelda, and Violet (aka, fatty). All the kids loved him and he will forever be known as “Uncle Paul”. He had an infectious laugh and smile that could light up the darkest room. Paul gave the greatest hugs that let you know he truly cared about you. He had a big heart and would put the needs of others before himself. He loved cuddling on the couch and watching his favorite super hero movies and was ridiculously good at jeopardy and would challenge anyone. He will be forever missed by his friends, family and especially Jen, Caralina and Gavin.
His loving family includes: wife, Jennifer, Minot; children, Caralina and Gavin; mother, Rhonda (Kent) Hartleib, Sawyer; brother, Craig (Michelle) Dalen, Lawton, OK; sisters, Amber (Bryan) Wagner, Weirton, WV, and Erica Dalen, Minot; parents-in-law, John and Bonnie Pangrac, Minot; and Daniel and Debbie Meschke, Minot; maternal grandmother, Geneva Adams, Bismarck; Godchildren, Dovlyn Arie O’Driscoll and Stryker James O’Driscoll; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Paul was preceded in death by his father, Lynn; paternal grandparents, James and Colleen Dalen; maternal grandparents, Gerald and Luverne Borud, and Lee Adams; great-grandmother, Juanita Borud; uncle, Brad Borud; niece, Patricia Dalen; and Paul’s foster mother, Beverly Moberg.
