Julia Rhea (Sherrell) Woods, 45, of McAlester, died Thursday, May 10, 2018 in McAlester. Julia was born to George Ray and Juanita Carol (Walker) Sherrell on September 3, 1972 in McAlester. She grew up in McAlester and graduated from McAlester High School in 1990. She obtained a Bachelor’s of Science degree from Southeastern Oklahoma State University and a Master’s degree from East Central University. Julia married her high school sweet-heart, Bryan Woods, on October 27, 1990 in McAlester. She was a teacher for Frink-Chambers School for twenty-four years and an instructor for Great Expectations. Julia enjoyed teaching, shopping, fishing, yard work, working out, loving on her animals, and being with her daughter and husband, Bryan. She was a member of the North Town Church of Christ and had been attending the Wilburton Church of Christ. Julia was preceded in death by her grandparents: J.D. and Nadine Walker, O.E. and Helon Sherrell, John S. Woods, and Leo and Anna Jordan. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, May 14, 2018 at North Town Church of Christ officiated by Mr. Randy Hughes.
